FIRST OFF – HOW ARE YOU GUYS AND WHATS IN THE WORKS FOR YOU AT THE MOMENT?
We are well trying to finish the new album but Metal for the brain is getting in the way, we probably wont record till march 07 then its tour tour tour , autralia and headline prog power 2007 in Holland
YOU GUYS HAVE BEEN AROUND FOR WHILE NOW, WHO ARE YOUR BIGGEST INFLUENCES, PERSONAL AND AS A BAND?
As a band its immpossible to note as we have varied influences , I have so many that i like on a personal level I suppose Pink Floyd , slayer, Napalm death, black sabbath , King Crimson, Anthing from the New york Dolls to Discordance axis.
YOU FIRST CAME ON THE SCENE AROUND ’93, HOW DID THAT END UP HAPPENING?
Well it was because we put our first album out and started touring , we were a band from 89 realy , when Rodney and myself first teamed up, I actually started the band in 87.

NOW 6 ALBUMS LATER – HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT BEING IN THE BAND STILL?
Great its taking us along time to hit it overseas but the europeans realy like ourb original sound, we went from guests at Progpower europe in 2004 to Headliners in 2007 so things move slow but we are constantly buliding overseas , In austral it seems to have leveled out but i will expectthat will improve with the new album and promotion.
YOU GUYS ARE FROM AUSTRALIA, SO HAVE YOU HAD MUCH SUCCESS OVERSEAS?
Yes we are doing ok there but we still have a long way to go , touring europe enables us to do 30 shows + in a row and thats the most fun we have ever had, be back there in 2007 after the album , we have also noticed that our sales are picking up in Japan and the United states so hopefully we can get there after the next album.
YOUR NEW STUFF IS SOUNDING GREAT AND REALLY CRISP, A LOT OF TIME MUST HAVE BEEN SPENT ON PRODUCTION
Do you mean Austral alien?
YES Its pretty old now and yeah alot was spent on preparing the tracks for the studio, pre production so to speak, but the album was recorded and mixed in 10 days .

Austral Alien |
YOU GUYS HAVE A REALLY PROUD AUSTRALIAN THEME.
Yep i rekon mate , We love the country and tried to make an original soud that many overseas see as a truly Aussie sound but i dont think its an aussie sound most aussie bands dont sound anything like us so i think its just Alchemist sound, We like to write about things close to hme not retarded things like aussie bands writting about nordic darkness and shit , that seems realy dumb to me...Aussie for eva.
SO, YOUR HEADING OVER TO DO PROG POWER EUROPE, YOU MUST BE PRETTY PUMPED.
Pumped as mate , cant wait shall be our second time on the festival.

IT MUST FEEL GOOD TO FINALLY GET A PAY OFF FROM ALL THAT HARD WORK.
