OVERVIEW
11 albums down, and Therapy? Show no sign of slowing down. They deliver what they’re best at here and old fans should be more than happy. It doesn’t surprise me that they’ve stuck to their guns; the guys have managed to amass a substantial cult following over the last 15 years
SONGS
Things start out with the eerily moody Outro and head straight into the droning verses of Sprung, this grows on you, and has a good chorus, and I like the old school breakdown section too. The great, yet familiar catchy riffs continue with Deluded Son, complete with Cheap Trick/Enuff Z Nuff harmony vocals. This one is great, yet somewhat repetitive. Lose It All starts out below average, but slowly drags you in with its great riffing, but has a fairly disappointing 90’s ‘grunge’ style chorus. Dopamine, Seratonin, Adrenaline fairs much better, and is a highlight of the album. They churn out another great one with Unconsoled. Full of feeling and melody, it’s an absolute winner. White noise is also great. Rain Hits Concrete is another great sing-a-long, I could see this live alongside Amenger. Fear Of God to the end are all great melodic Therapy? affairs! Strong innings
CONCLUSION
Therapy? Have produced another strong album. It can be uneven at times. The production sounds very old and dated. It almost sounds like an early ‘grunge’ album mix, which is maybe what they’re going for, seeing as it’s mixed and produced by the same guy. But to me it sounds cheap and a little messy. But on the other hand, that’s what Therapy? Does so well, out of the mess and noise comes some really catchy and enjoyable songs. The vocals are sometimes great and sometimes not. It seems as though sometimes he’s on a different page than the others. It may take a while to get into, but this is probably one of their best yet.
